SZÍVSN, the official patient organization of the Hungarian Society of Cardiologists, the Városmajor Clinic of Semmelweis University and St. Francis Hospital in Budapest are announcing an unusual women’s day: on this one day, March 8, they will have the opportunity to register for an extraordinary cardiological screening for women only. 57% of women in Hungary die from heart disease, and 43% do not show any symptoms of the disease. This is to draw attention to the fact that the female heart is often unnoticed in serious danger. Women are five times more likely to die from some cardiovascular disease than from any other disorder. Myocardial infarction is classically a disease of men, the head of an overworked, stressful, money-making family. Compared to this, women have at least as much, if not more, burden, because the usual role of mother and wife is often accompanied by the same burden at work. According to statistics, more women die from circulatory diseases than men. This is also due to the fact that in women, the classic symptoms are often unnoticed, so they often seek professional care late. In addition, they are more pain tolerant and more likely to go through complaints about trouble. We are waiting for the joining of hospitals, clinics, municipal offices and practice communities for the screening organized at the Városmajor clinic.
Applicants for the SZÍVSN screening at the Városmajor Clinic of Semmelweis University will be registered at 0620 / 825-8084 from 9 am to 3 pm.
