Invitation – High-Level Event at the European Parliament

 

On behalf of FH Europe Foundation, and under the co-hosting of MEP Romana Jerković, Chair of the MEP Cardiovascular Health Group, and MEP Tomislav Sokol, Member of SANT Committee on Public Healthit is our pleasure to invite you to a high-level event in the European Parliament and online:

Cardiovascular Prevention as the Cornerstone of a Competitive Europe –
Scaling Up Lipid Screening to Secure Next Generations

The programme will open with inspiring remarks from MEP Romana Jerković, and Magdalena Daccord, CEO of FH Europe Foundation, setting the stage for heartfelt testimonies by young Ambassadors and caregivers: Lena-Rosa Hanauer (Austria), Joanna Kacprzak (Poland), Aedan Kaal (Netherlands) and Teevi Poobus (Estonia), who will share their personal journeys and advocate for earlier prevention and cardiovascular health for all.

Throughout the program, leading experts such as Prof. Zanfina AdemiProf. Børge NordestgaardProf. Albert WiegmanProf. Florian KronenbergProf. Mafalda BourbonDr. Marius GeantăProf. Fausto Pinto, and Assoc. Prof. Andrie Panayiotou will highlight how innovation, data and policy can shape a healthier future.

A high-level policy discussion will also take place with representative from the European Commission, discussing EU and global-level actions for better cardiovascular health.

The event will be moderated by Madalina Iamandei, Patient Ambassador and Kitti Almer, Policy and Advocacy Manager, FH Europe Foundation.

Taking place one day after FH Awareness Day and just ahead of World Heart Day, the event will highlight how scaling up lipid screening can prevent avoidable cardiovascular events and secure healthier futures for the next generations.

Building on the Prague Declaration on FH Paediatric Screening and the Brussels Declaration on Elevated Lp(a)Testing and Management, this meeting will explore how Europe can move from declarations to deeds, embedding early detection and prevention into the forthcoming Cardiovascular Health Plan.

Please note that due to limited venue capacity, registrations for in-person attendance will be confirmed separately. However, online participation is open to everyone.

Registration deadline for in-person is Thursday, 18 September by noon (12.00 CEST).
