Dear GHH Affiliate,
On behalf of Neil Johnson and Global Heart Hub, I would like to share with you an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Cardiovascular Health agenda in Europe.
As you might know, the EU is gearing up for new elections in May 2024 and, for the first time ever, there is an opportunity to have Cardiovascular Health as part of the election manifestos of large political groups and of as many individual MEPs as possible.
In light of this unprecedented opportunity, the European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health (EACH),of which we are a partner, will host an event this December for MEPs and political groups to provide a platform to make clear public commitments to Cardiovascular Health (CVH) in their election manifestos and thus together create a CVH Plan for Europe. The support and engagement of patient organisation leaders and advocates across Europe will be essential to driving MEPs to attend and make these commitments.
I am pleased to invite you to a 1-hour meeting, where we will share more details about this plan and the actions that you and your organisation can take to support it. You can join either of the following meetings – I recommend you put a hold on your calendar with this Zoom link, as this link will allow you to enter the meeting directly:
- Option 1: Oct 9, 2023 17:00 CET –
- Option 2: Oct 10, 2023 19:00 CET –
The GHH community will be joined in these webinars by advocates and organisations across the FH and Stroke communities as well.
We very much hope you are able to join, as we will be sharing critical context and action items to take full advantage of this rare opportunity to drive CVH plans. Please feel free to share with other patient organisations and advocates within the cardiovascular disease community in Europe, and if you want to engage but aren’t able to attend either of these meetings, let me know so we can keep you involved.
Reach out if you have any questions, and thank you in advance for your support!
Kind regards,
Joanna
