The 25th of September is the Day of our Hearts, the 26th is the World Day of Clean Mountains - the coincidence has a message value, which is now represented by the person of expedition mountaineer Szilárd Suhajda. He proves it with his life and dreams: we can do anything with faith, will and, of course, first of all, heart. This spring, Szilárd Suhajda climbed the fourth highest mountain on Earth, the 8,516-meter Lhoce, without supplemental oxygen or high-altitude packs. In 2019, he became the first Hungarian to reach the highest point of K2, which is the second highest mountain peak in the world and also considered the most difficult. An athlete, a father, a man who tries to overcome his own limits every time. He presented himself at the Sunday event of Szívénk Napja as the ambassador of the SzÍVSN National Patient Association. As a sportsman, Suhajda Szilárd already knows trying challenges behind him, in fact he makes his dreams come true on each Himalayan expedition. He really knows how the heart takes us forward, even in a physical sense, so that we can achieve anything. That is why he immediately undertook to publicly represent the protection of the hearts of hundreds of thousands of heart patients in Hungary, and even the entire population. "As an ambassador of the National Patient Association of SzÍVSN, I would like to draw attention to the importance of a healthy and sporty lifestyle. Nature walks and regular exercise are not only great forms of relaxation, but they also serve to preserve the integrity and health of our body and heart. By maintaining and developing our physical well-being, our quality of life will also improve. Just like in the mountains: the fitter you are, the greater the enjoyment value of the tour. I consider it important to communicate about these guidelines not only with my family and my parents, but also with all ages and the widest possible audience: talking about health is a pleasure - and doing it is the responsibility and joy of all of us", says Szilárd Suhajda, who pinned her own creed on her ambassador's banner. : "The world slows down around me on the highest mountains of our earth. Only my heart beats steadily, faster than at any time and anywhere in my ordinary life. Above eight thousand meters, my heart and will power take me step by step. My movement seems to be in slow motion: I almost trudge in the last meters. When I reach the top, every part of me goes numb, the feeling is hard to describe: it's like a dream. Lucky is he who has the strength to enjoy the moment. During my high mountain expeditions, my body is subjected to extreme strain. My circulatory system and lung capacity will be the keys to efficient and successful climbing. At the same time, the summit is only halfway: a strong, healthy heart is also a condition for a safe return – as the most important goal: every heartbeat brings me closer to my home and my family. No matter how high a Himalayan peak I climb, this is how the biggest challenge finally makes sense: returning home."
