16 health NGOs receive funding
Sixteen NGOs will receive support from the HUF 160 million health-related tender, the Ministry of the Interior (MoI) said on Friday.
The Ministry’s State Secretariat for Health, together with the Hungarian Association of Patient Organisations (BEMOSZ), announced a call for proposals entitled “Support for the operation of social, civil and non-profit organisations in the field of health”. The tender was open to civil society and non-profit organisations that were legally registered before 31 December 2020 and have a permanent public benefit status.
To ensure the efficient allocation of the available budget, the State Secretariat for Health and BEMOSZ signed a cooperation agreement in February. Sixteen organisations received a total of HUF 160 million in non-repayable grants under the call for proposals, and the winning applicants were notified on 9 July.
The grants, funded from this year’s central budget, are aimed at strengthening the preventive approach and improving patient cooperation and health awareness in general. Under the call for applications, organisations working in the field of health, health education and prevention of families, children or young people; chronic non-communicable diseases, which are the greatest burden of disease; support for people with rare diseases; other health prevention, patient and family support were eligible to apply, the ministry said in a statement.
