The rector and more than 100 staff members of Semmelweis University can be voted for until 19 March to win the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical Award, established by the Goodwill Pharma for Health Foundation in Szeged. The award will be presented to 9 doctors who are deemed worthy of the honour by both the professional jury and patients.
The Szent-Györgyi Albert Medical Award, established in 2017, is given to professionals who have saved the lives of their patients or who practice medicine with a dedication to their daily work, with exceptional dedication, scientific rigour and humanitarianism.
104 doctors from Semmelweis University have been nominated, including Dr. Béla Merkely, Rector of the University and Director of the Heart and Vascular Clinic in Városmajor. Voting is open until 19 March on the award website.
