Did you know that:
cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are tnumber one reason of death in Europe and globally
85% of CVD deaths are due to heart attack and stroke
1 in 16 people with diagnosed coronary artery disease have FH.
90% of people with FH don’t know that they have it! Most often FH is diagnosed late, after the first event (heart attack).
80% of premature heart attacks and strokes are preventable.
So what can be done to prevent the preventable heart attacks, and to promote a cardiovascular health?
FH paediatric screening – which means a simple and a cheap blood test for high cholesterol might be the answer. If done early in life, it will help detect inherited high cholesterol, stop the development of atherosclerosis and prevent related cardiovascular issues.
